2nd International Symposium on Advances in Steel & Composite Structures
April 16 @ 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm
There are new advances made in the recent years on design and construction of steel-concrete composite structural systems in building and infrastructural work. It is important for researchers and practitioners to know these advances in view of the huge opportunity of infrastructure construction in Singapore and Asia Pacific Region in the coming decades. Steel and composite construction is often adopted in high-rise buildings, large span structures and infrastructural work due to their high structural efficiency with respect to high strength-to- weight ratio as well as their robustness against instability and accidental loads. This International Symposium serves as a platform for renowned researchers and engineers to disseminate their new findings on advanced design and construction technology of steel and composite structures with special emphases on practical applications and case studies. Experts from Singapore, China and Japan have been invited to share their knowledge and experience in steel and composite design and construction.
Two new design guides will be launched at the symposium: “Design Guide for Semi-rigid Composite Joints and Beams” and “BC4:2021: Design Guide for Steel-Concrete Composite Columns with High Strength Materials”. The QR codes to download these two guides will be provided to all the registered participants during the symposium. These guidebooks jointly developed by BCA, NUS and SSSS serve as a valuable source of reference for building practitioners for designing new buildings.
Thank you for your interest in the Symposium. Registration for the Symposium has closed.
