About SICAT  2017

The second run of the Symposium on Innovation and Challenges in Asian Tunnelling (SICAT) is organised together with industry partners from Japan and Korea. It aims to share valuable experiences gained from recent underground infrastructure projects across the 3countriesonvarioustopicsincludinghighspeedrail, new tunnel machine technologies, challenges and lesson learnt from major tunnelling projects, horizontal jet grouting, new ways of instrumentation monitoring for safety, use of geophysical survey for design and construction of tunnelling, new methods of blasting for mining to minimise environmental impact, etc.


12 lectures will be delivered by prominent experts from the regions in their respective fields and several specialist suppliers and manufacturers will make presentations during the symposium showcasing their latest technologies and services. The specialist suppliers and manufacturers could also be engaged at their respective exhibition booths at the symposium to obtain more information about their products and services.
